2017 United YoYo Championships
5-6-17
2017 is shaping up to be an exciting year of yoyoing, considering the World YoYo Contest will be in Iceland in August! If you’re in the U.S., it’s time to start training now and we know you won’t want to miss out on this multi-state battle. It’s strategically located in St. Louis, the Gateway to the West, and of equal distance from both east to west coasts . The United YoYo Championships last year was in Kansas City and this year it makes its debut to downtown St. Louis. If you’re from the Midwest, then you also could grab the title of state champion for either Kansas or Missouri, with a seeding into finals at Mid-West Regionals. And, of course ultimately onto the largest YoYo contests, the U.S. National YoYo Contest and the World YoYo Contest.
The second annual United YoYo Championships will be hosted in downtown St. Louis, at the amazing, community supported radio station, 88.1 KDHX, The Stage. KDHX is located in the heart of the Grand Center Arts District and holds an audience of up to 150. For the competitors we have full use of the KDHX Stage, lighting, sound, and a projector with screen.
The venue is also attached to Magnolia Cafe and in addition there are several alternative lunch options available in a 1-2 block radius including the St. Louis Contemporary Art Museum. Many other attractions are worth noting for your St. Louis visit: The City Museum, The Arch, Forest Park, World Chess Hall of Fame, and the Delmar Loop with its brand new trolley. Expect a fantastic contest with lots of new faces including first time judging for St. Louis, Sebastian Brock. Feel free to post questions or check back for more info as we get closer to showtime!
