Championship Division

The Championship Division will have the 5 recognized styles of play separated out into 1A and X categories. There will be a 1-minute preliminary performance by all competitors followed by a 3-minute final performance by a shortened list of competitors.

1A: Freestyle performances with one long spinning string trick yo-yo.

X: Combined competition for all other styles of play – 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A.

2A: Freestyle performances involve two looping yo-yos.

4A: Freestyle performances with one or more yo-yos where the string is not attached to the yo-yo(s).

3A: Freestyle performances involve two long spinning string trick yo-yos.

5A: Freestyle performances with one or more yo-yos where the string is attached to a counterweight instead of the competitor’s finger.

Sports Freestyle Division

The Sport Freestyle Division will combine all styles of play (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A) with 1-minute performances. Judging will consist of an ‘evaluation only’ format.

Rules

 Scoring of the Championship Division will follow the standard NYYL/IYYF scoring using the Semi-final standards of 60% Clicker, 40% Evaluation (4 Categories), and Major Deductions.

Competitors advancing to the finals will be sorted into the finals based on their total prelim score starting with the lowest score to highest score to determine their performance order in the finals.
