After a 5-year break, it’s happening on Saturday, November 30th at The People’s Building in Aurora, Colorado. Get ready for an exciting day of yo-yo action!

Highlights include:
• Championship Freestyle Competitions in 1A, X
• Sports Freestyle
• Sport Ladder Competition

There will also be vendor tables with some amazing merch. Whether you’re competing or just coming to watch, it’s an event you won’t want to miss!

The Illinois State Yo-Yo Contest @illinoisyoyo is coming back to the Chicago Toy & Game Fair (CHITAG; Rosemont, IL) on Sunday, Nov. 10! Show off your latest tricks and build-up confidence in competitions. Whether you’re a yo-yo contest pro or a first-time competitor, the Illinois State Yo-Yo Contest has a division for all levels, including 1A Freestyle, X Freestyle, Sport Freestyle, Doc Lucky’s Duos and the Beginner’s Luck Trick Contest, a new take on the traditional Sport Ladder format. Enjoy all the yo-yo action, alongside a yo-yo collectors showcase, yo-yo traders table and yo-yo marketplace.

Colin Beckford @colinbeckford has received the NYYL’s National Achievement Award for his remarkable contributions to contest judging, his support for the National Yo-Yo League, and his key role in organizing in-person and online events for Scales Collective. Colin has played a significant role in evolving the judging process within the yo-yo community. By introducing advanced tools like the Scales Clicker, he has provided comprehensive, real-time feedback on freestyle performances, helping judges learn from each other and improving the precision and fairness of contest judging. His dedication to helping the NYYL judging team create clear and accurate standards will continue to support the growth and success of the USA contest scene. Colin’s efforts have not only enhanced the competitive landscape but also created a supportive and enriching environment for yo-yo players and judges alike.
