Colin Beckford @colinbeckford has received the NYYL’s National Achievement Award for his remarkable contributions to contest judging, his support for the National Yo-Yo League, and his key role in organizing in-person and online events for Scales Collective. Colin has played a significant role in evolving the judging process within the yo-yo community. By introducing advanced tools like the Scales Clicker, he has provided comprehensive, real-time feedback on freestyle performances, helping judges learn from each other and improving the precision and fairness of contest judging. His dedication to helping the NYYL judging team create clear and accurate standards will continue to support the growth and success of the USA contest scene. Colin’s efforts have not only enhanced the competitive landscape but also created a supportive and enriching environment for yo-yo players and judges alike. His key role in organizing PNWR and Nationals has been invaluable, and his dedication has greatly benefited the community. Known for his energetic presence and ability to engage audiences, Graeme has elevated the overall experience at events, ensuring they are memorable and enjoyable for participants and spectators alike. Congratulations to @GentryStein for being awarded the Donald F. Duncan Award for Industry Excellence. Gentry’s contributions to the yo-yo industry have been instrumental in attracting new players through his inspiring content and widely shared videos. With world championships in 2014 and 2019, along with multiple U.S. National titles, Gentry has traveled globally, spreading the joy of yo-yoing. It is with great pride that we announce Michelle Dauer @mommayoyos as the recipient of the Mark Sitton Award for Sportsmanship. As both a devoted yo-yo parent and the head of the DXL Yo-Yo Crew in Orange County, California, she has proven to be a true ambassador for the sport. Michelle always makes everyone feel so welcome and is an inspiration for women and yo-yo parents to learn to throw and even get on stage and just have fun! Her leadership ensures the continued success of the DXL Yo-Yo Crew while fostering a supportive and welcoming environment. Michelle truly embodies the values that Mark Sitton championed.
