UYYC is consistently judged every year with the same parameters as the National Yoyo Contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if this is your last contest before U.S. Nationals it’s a fantastic opportunity to get your routine perfect. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We ask all competitors to read over all of the National Yoyo League’s rules for the 2026 contest season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Explanation of Divisions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sport: <\/strong>amateur 1A freestyle<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 40: <\/strong>freestyle in 1A – 5<\/em>A<\/p>\n\n\n\n

X Division: <\/strong>freestyle in 2A – 5A<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1A: <\/strong>freestyle using one bearing or fixed axle yo-yo<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2A: <\/strong>freestyle with two looping yo-yos<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

3A: <\/strong>freestyle with two string trick yo-yos<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

4A: f<\/strong>reestyle with yo-yo(s) where string is not attached<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

5A: <\/strong>freestyle with yo-yo(s) which has counter-weight on the other side of string<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

If you earn any of the titles listed below you have the potential to earn a prize bag, award medal, state title, and national recognition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as judges have tabulated results we will ask this year’s winners to come on stage to receive their awards and take pictures with the judges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total there are 18 prize bags and 22 award medals to be given out at end of the event<\/span>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Kansas State Champion: 1A and X-Division<\/strong> \/ 1st place medals only<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*Missouri State Champion: 1A and X-Division<\/strong> \/ 1st place medals only<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the 2026 NYYL contest season everyone can compete at the National Yoyo Contest or a Regional Yoyo Contest…. in PRELIMS. Because Nationals and Regionals are open to everyone they are not seeding state winners. State competitions can however still award the highest ranked player in their state for recognition and awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

*UYYC will continue in the tradition of handing state titles out to the highest ranked player in Kansas and Missouri. However, to be considered state champion there must be a minimum of 3 state residents competing in the same division. Essentially, as long as there are enough residents from the same state to fill a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner in 1a or X division.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

**UYYC will also recognize a few other states that border the state of Missouri for the 2026 contest season. This only applies if your state borders Missouri, does not currently hold a competition, and there are at minimum 3 residents from the same state competing in the same division at UYYC. For the 2026 contest season UYYC will recognize Missouri, Kansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Iowa,and Nebraska!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
