    • Ultimately that will depend on the number of competitors registered to compete in 4A. Based on historic trends and competitor counts, we are anticipating that Open Qualifying (Wildcard) will only be necessary for 1A.

    • Hi Noel – it will ultimately depending on the number of registered competitors in a division. For 2A, we will make the call after registration closes regarding the ability to bypass the Open Qualifying and/or Prelims rounds.

    • Hi Jaden – all the information regarding the progressions from prelims -> semi-finals -> finals is available here:

But to summarize – for semi-finals in 1A, the top 20 from prelims plus any pre-seeded competitors, then top 10 from prelims plus previous years National Champion go to Finals. For 2A, 3A, 4A, and 5A, it’s top 10 and top 5 respectively.

  • It says on the national yoyo contest website there will be a 4a wildcard. Will there be one one? I just need to know for practice reasons.

    • It will ultimately depend on the number of competitors registered into 4A – however, based on entries at this point, I don’t anticipate needing run the open qualifying for 4A. Once registration closes, the call will be made regarding the rounds that need to be run. -> Thad
