The Midwest Regional Yo-Yo Championships is one of the 9 regional contests of the National Yo-Yo League. It encompasses ten Midwestern states (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri, Montana, Wyoming, and Nebraska) The winners of the 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A and 5A divisions of the contest will get a seed to the National Yo-Yo Contest in Chico, California.

Recent yo-yo design innovation has turned the “Number One Toy of the 20th Century” (named by A&E network) into a sophisticated piece of sports equipment. The current ball-bearing performance quality yo-yos have increased the caliber of tricks performed by all players. The ease of using a ball-bearing yo-yo encourages new players to learn advanced skills faster than before. There are more players competing in contests and enjoying the sport than in any time in history. Yo-yoing has become a fresh entertaining activity for a whole new generation.

National Yo-Yo Master and head judge Dazzling Dave Schulte is the organizer of the event.

The location/venue for any of the Regional Contests is up to the event organizer for that particular event. In this case, Dave Schulte is the person who organizes the Midwest Regional – contact him directly through the website for the Midwest Regional (http://www.mwryoyo.com).
